Our good friend Russell Carnes of Earth Sky Builders asked us for a new logo and business cards that reflected his love of wood and craftsmanship. After a healthy amount of design exploration, we arrived at a logo that incorporates hand tools Russ uses to craft fine wood joinery. As the logo took shape, we explored different paper options. The idea of trying to print on wood came up and we gave it a try. Russ brought us a bunch of different veneer scraps and we were able to use those to make him some special extras. Veneer doesn't take an impression like paper. It also has a tendency to curl. Despite the printing challenges, we are very happy with the results. We love the way his logo pairs with the wood background.
